Research Interests

My primary research interests revolve around identifying the genetic causes of craniofacial disorders, including both Mendelian and complex forms of cleft lip and palate. We use deep phenotyping in individuals with craniofacial anomalies and their family members, genetic association methods, and next generation sequencing to identify novel genetic risk factors and to understand fundamental questions of phenotypic heterogeneity, penetrance, and variable expressivity.
