Awards Received Two faculty members in the Department of Human Genetics at Emory University received prestigious awards at the March meeting of the American College of Medical Genetics in Phoenix, Ariz.
David H. Ledbetter, Ph.D., Robert W. Woodruff Professor of Human Genetics and Director of the Division of Medical Genetics, was awarded the 2008-2009 Luminex-ACMGF Award, which includes a $100,000 grant.The award will be used to organize an academic consortium whose goal will be to develop a uniform design for microarray testing and a share database to aid in
clinical interpretation of microarray data.
Madhuri Hegde, Ph.D.,
FACMG, was the first recipient of the Signature Genomic Laboratories
Travel Award. Dr. Hegde is an Assistant Professor of Human Genetics and
Director of the DNA Diagnostic Laboratory at Emory University School of
Medicine.
