Emory Genetics Clinic
The Emory Genetics Clinic provides comprehensive diagnostic evaluations, follow-up care, and genetic counseling for both inpatients and outpatients. Patients are seen by a clinical geneticist or a specially trained nurse practitioner and a genetic counselor. Patients with inborn errors of metabolism are also seen by a registered dietician. We evaluate children and adults for a wide range of indications, including but not limited to:
- Developmental delays and/or regression
- Intellectual disability
- Birth defects
- Autism
- Inborn errors of metabolism
- Multisystem medical problems
- Failure to thrive
The Department of Human Genetics has genetic counselors who work in other specialty clinics to provide access to genetic services across Atlanta. Cancer genetic counselors can be found at several locations, including Winship Cancer Institute, Winship at Midtown, Emory Decatur Hospital and Grady Memorial Hospital. Prenatal genetic counselors practice at Emory University Hospital Midtown.
