Lysosomal Storage Disease Websites
The story of Joe is a colorfully illustrated book about a 10 year-old boy who learns he has Fabry disease. Written from Joe's perspective, the story explains Joe's symptoms, his visit to a geneticist who makes the diagnosis of Fabry disease, and describes how his symptoms go away once he is treated.
Joe's story was written by Dawn Laney, MS, CGC, Emory Lysosomal Storage Disease Center Program Leader, and illustrated by Michael Johnson, an illustrator and graphic artist living in Atlanta who also happens to have Fabry disease.
