Welcome to the Fridovich-Keil Lab!
The focus of our research is galactose metabolism and the role(s) galactose metabolites play in normal development and disease. Specifically, we are working to understand the role(s) of galactose metabolism in normal embryogenesis and homeostasis using a fly model system, and the pathophysiology of transferase- and epimerase-deficiency galactosemias using a combination of model systems and patient studies.
